What Is an Active Adult Community?

When you hit your golden years, there are more things you must start considering. One of the most important topics is your living situation. You may have heard of adult communities but maybe you don’t know very much about them. Here at Landmark Fine Homes, we want you to be able to make the most informed decision. After all, your living situation is very important. But what is an active adult community? An active adult community may be one in which low-maintenance housing is made available. Such a community may also emphasize community activities to encourage social interaction and physical activity.

While many active adult communities may be age-restricted (55+), our communities are not. Our active adult communities emphasize comfort and healthy living, while at the same time creating relationships with those you live next to. In the following post, we will be detailing the potential benefits of living in an active adult community so be sure to read on or call us if you have any questions!

What Are the Benefits of Active Adult Communities?

 Some of the benefits include:

  • Social Activities - In an active adult community, you will get the opportunity to socialize and interact with people you live with. Many of our fine active adult communities have clubhouses that host weekly activities that help residents stay active and social.
  • Tailored Amenities - Many of our active adult communities have special amenities like community pools, clubhouses, fitness centers, community gardens, pickleball courts and even stocked catch-and-release fishing ponds.
  • Yard Maintenance- If you are ready to retire the lawn mower and enjoy your evenings and weekends doing something else, these communities are for you.  Not only will your yard look great, but you will also not have to worry about that one neighbor who doesn’t take care of their lawn.  All the yards in the community will look great!
  • Gated Community- So many of our residents love the extra sense of security they receive by living in a gated community.

Making A Big Decision

As always, no matter where you want to live, you should discuss it at length with family and loved ones. Moving into an active adult community is a big decision; but the benefits could have a substantial positive impact on the quality of your life. We would love to tell you about some of our great active adult communities so don’t hesitate to call us!
